Special Crime Alert issued by sheriff’s department
By LeaAnne Klentzman
The Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office is asking for tips in solving the burglary of the Super K Foods convenience store bordering the Townewest subdivision.
Sheriff’s spokesman, Bob Haenel, said the store was burglarized about 4:30 on the morning on August 20, and caught on video surveillance tape. On the surveillance footage, the burglarizing duo can be seen shattering the store’s front door and nearby lighting. Haenel said the video also showed them as they gathered goods from the store like cigarettes and cigars. Once they had the stolen goods in their possession, they dumped their contraband into trash bags.
Both suspects are described as black males. Haenel said the first suspect was wearing dark gloves, black long-sleeved t-shirt, dark shorts and shoes and carrying a yellow crowbar and a dark colored trash bag. The second suspect was wearing dark gloves, a black long-sleeved shirt, black Dickie-style pants, black and white Nike brand tennis shoes and a brown and yellow Boston baseball style cap. Haenel said, “He also had a yellow crowbar and was carrying a dark trash bag.”
Information provided to Crime Stoppers that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects involved in this case could earn a reward of up to $5,000.
