Stafford receives kudos from Chancellor Don Newbury

Dear Editor:

Recently it was my honor and privilege to address employees of Stafford Municipal School District at the convocation kicking off the 2012-2013 school year. I have made such talks to hundreds of schools over a period of more than four decades, and never have felt a stronger spirit of commitment, teamwork and partnership than was evidenced there.

Stafford MSD has grand facilities, and its personnel take advantage of opportunities to interface with the community through shared commitment and shared facilities. Stafford citizens get maximum results from their tax dollars.

I salute Mayor Leonard Scarcilla and members of the City Council; Board President Ittienne Zak and his fellow trustees, and Dr. Lance Hindt, Superintendent of Schools. Strong leadership begins at the top, and is effective when there is mutual respect and confidence as there is in Stafford. Further, employees feel they are valued members of the team.

I found all these qualities to be evident in Stafford, and predict a grand school year. Citizens of Stafford have much to be proud of in Stafford Municipal School District.

Kindest regards,
Dr. Don Newbury
