Students receive backpacks filled with supplies

Fluor Cares volunteers are shown distributing backpacks to Hunters Glen Elementary School students.

On the first day of school, Fluor employee volunteers made a welcomed visit to Hunters Glen Elementary School to present each student with a backpack filled with school supplies. Each year, Fluor selects a Fort Bend ISD campus to benefit from its Fluor Cares backpack program.

During the summer, Fluor employees hold a school supply drive at their worksite. Employees donate grade appropriate school supplies and help sort and package the supplies to distribute to students at the selected campus on the first day of school.

“We are extremely honored to receive this gift of backpacks and school supplies from Fluor,” said Angela Dow, principal at Hunters Glen Elementary School.

“Our students, parents and staff appreciate Fluor for their overwhelming support and generosity.”

In addition to donating the backpacks, Fluor also presented Hunters Glen Elementary with a check for $2,800 to apply toward the purchase of additional school supplies as needed.
