Tot nearly drowns at family’s new home

Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel said over the holiday weekend a family was moving into their new home in the 14800 block of Fletcher Bridge Court in the Woodbridge subdivision, just north of Sugar Land, when their toddler slipped away and ended up in the backyard pool.
While busy moving, the husband heard his wife screaming from behind the house where the pool was located, said Haenel. When he ran to the back yard he found his wife with their 2 year old son she had just pulled from floating in the pool. “The father immediately began applying CPR to the victim,” said Haenel. The father told responding deputies that the boy had vomited quite a bit of water after compressions were applied and he was breathing when deputies arrived.
The toddler was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Sugar Land where he was later transferred to Texas Children’s Hospital. According to Haenel, the boy appeared to be doing well.
