FBISD to celebrate Family Day Sept. 24
Fort Bend ISD’s Safe and Drug Free Schools Division is encouraging families to participate in Family Day on Monday, September 24. The annual celebration reminds parents/guardians that frequent family dinners make a positive difference in children’s lives.
Launched in 2001 by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University, Family Day is a national movement that informs parents/guardians that the engagement fostered during frequent family dinners in an effective tool to help prevent substance abuse in kids.
Research has found that the more often kids eat dinner with their families the less likely they are to smoke, drink alcohol or use drugs.
