FCST’s Simone Manuel wins gold medals
First Colony Swim Team’s Simone Manuel represented USA Swimming at the 2012 Jr Pan Pacific Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Manuel won four gold medals, placing first in the 100m freestyle, 400m freestyle relay, 800m freestyle relay, and 400m medley relay. Manuel’s time in the 100 free was a new Jr Pan Pac record and currently ranks her 40th in the world. She also placed 4th in the 50m free and 9th in the 200m free.
Manuel was selected based on her performance at the 2012 Olympic Trials. Other countries competing at this meet include Australia, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, and Mexico. Team USA won the meet with 19 gold medal swims.
Manuel has been a member of the First Colony Swim Team since the age of 10.
