The Fort Bend Education Foundation hosted its 13th annual Back to School Scramble golf tournament on August 27 at Sweetwater Country Club. The event welcomed 264 golfers and netted more than $95,000 for the Foundation.

The tournament low gross champion team included Mike Hudkins, Mark Melville, Mike Badillo and Josh Moore. They were honored at the tournament’s awards banquet.

The FBEF thanks Schlumberger and Sweetwater Country Club for presenting the tournament; Ron Bailey and Rod Nelson for serving as event co-chairs.

Hosting events such as the golf tournament allows the Foundation to provide opportunities to enrich and enhance the quality of education for all students in Fort Bend ISD through the Grants for Teachers and Schools programs. The Foundation touches every school in FBISD.

Last year, the Foundation awarded $263,000 through its Grants to Teachers and Schools programs. Since its inception in 1992, the Foundation has awarded more than $3.8 million to FBISD teachers and schools. For more information about the Fort Bend Education Foundation, visit the website at
