New RiverPark playground opened
The City of Sugar Land recently opened a new playground at the Park on the Levee in the RiverPark subdivision.
The $89,200 playground project, envisioned by the RiverPark Property Owners Association, was made possible through funding from Levee Improvement District 10 and the Sugar Land 4B Corporation, a non-profit corporation established to utilize sales tax funds for projects such as parks that improve quality of life in the City.
“The City provides annual funding through the Sugar Land 4B Corporation for unique, joint projects such as this, and we appreciate the contributions made by our partners that allowed us the opportunity to turn this vision into a reality,” said Director of Parks and Recreation Jim Browne.
The City acquired the park – including a pocket park, splash pad and park acreage along the Brazos River — when the City annexed RiverPark in December 2009.
