Vy Nguyen Strives to be a balanced voice that HD 26 has never had

Vy Nguyen

Vy Nguyen (pronounced “Vee Win”), a first generation Asian American, is the Democrat running for State Representative in House District 26 which encompasses Sugar Land, part of Richmond, and the Mission Bend/Houston area. Born 34 years ago, outside of Philadelphia, to immigrants from Vietnam, Nguyen is proud to be a part of a U.S Veteran family.

As the sole principal of the Law Office of Vy Nguyen and Associates, PLLC, Vy understands the concerns of small business owners. She specializes in civil litigation, business law, family law, oil and gas law, real estate transactions, patent and trademark law and is a proud member of the Better Business Bureau.

Nguyen obtained her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Houston and then obtained her law degree with Honors (Cum Laude) from Texas Southern University- Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

This Fort Bend County resident not only practices law, but is a legal instructor at the Center for Advanced Legal Studies and a devoted mother to her ten-year old son, an Honor Roll student who attends a Fort Bend I.S.D. public school.

Nguyen speaks conversational Spanish and Vietnamese and spends her volunteer hours with the Vietnamese American Community Center, Houston Food Fair Bank, Fort Bend Young Dems, Fort Bend Silver Dems and other civic associations in Fort Bend County.

Vy was recently nominated as “Fort Bend County’s Rising Star and Top 40 Entrepreneurs under 40” in the Fort Bend Business Journal and felt honored to be named amongst a distinguished list of “Women in Business” in the latest Fort Bend Business Journal.

Vy has been endorsed by political leaders in US Congress, Texas Senate, Texas House of Representatives and from organizations such as the AFL-CIO. Her campaign Treasurer is the Honorable Gordon Quan.

As a public servant, Vy Nguyen pledges to be a strong advocate for Texas working families, women, children, senior citizens, veterans, and all the culturally diverse groups in HD 26.

When elected as State Representative of House District 26, Vy will be the first Vietnamese American woman to serve in the history of the Texas Legislature.
