Lamar CISD receives “Superior Achievement” rating
For the 11th straight year, Lamar CISD has received a rating of “Superior Achievement” – the highest possible — on the Texas Education Agency’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, officially known as School FIRST.
District Chief Financial Officer Jill Ludwig presented submitted her report to the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees Thursday, at its regular September meeting.
“After educating students, a school district’s primary duty is to be good stewards of the taxpayer’s hard-earned dollars,” Ludwig said after the meeting. “Every in the business office is proud of our perfect record.”
Lamar CISD has receive the highest possible score every year since the program began.
Lamar CISD received a perfect score, meeting all 70 indicators in the program. The rating is based on student, staff, budgetary and actual financial data reported to the TEA. The program was authorized by the Texas Legislature in 2001 and was developed by the TEA, the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, the Texas Business and Education Council, the Texas Association of School Business Officials, Texas School Public Relations Association and other professional organizations.
