By Elsa Maxey

Fort Bend County Commissioners have approved a list of polling locations for use during the November 6 General Election. This election includes voting for the next U.S. president and many others including those vying for office in Fort Bend County.

Presented by the Elections Administration this Tuesday and reviewed by the county attorney’s office for the Fort Bend County Commissioners, there were also other joint election agreements between Fort Bend County and other political subdivisions including the City of Houston, Houston METRO and Fort Bend County Water Control and Improvement District No. 10.

The complete list of the voting locations will be posted on the website, advises John Oldham, the county’s elections administrator.

The list will show a voter’s precinct number and corresponding polling place address for voting on November 6, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Previously announced early voting dates for the General Election in Fort Bend County have been set for Monday, October 22 through Friday, November 2. During early voting, eligible registered voters may vote at any Fort Bend County voting location.  The list of early voting locations will also be found on the county’s website.

The last day to register to vote in the upcoming November election is Tuesday, October 9.  Towards this end, the Fort Bend Voters League will have a Voter Registration Festival on Saturday, October 6, 2 – 4 p.m. at the Sugar Land Town Square Plaza, which is in front of city hall on 15958 City Walk.

Also for voter registration, eligible persons may visit the county’s website, complete a form online and then print and sign the completed form. The completed form, however, must be returned to the Elections Administration in person or by mail by the 30th day before the next election in order to be eligible to vote.

Persons wishing to confirm their voter registration may log on to the county’s website for a search that will require their name and birth date.

For more information about voting, contact Fort Bend County’s Elections Administration at 281-341-8670.
