Five FBISD students named Semifinalists for the 2013 National Achievement Scholarship Program
Fort Bend Independent School District is proud to announce the names of five students selected as semifinalists in the 2013 National Achievement Scholarship Program. The students are: Zachary Amorin – Hightower High School; Desha Dike – Clements High School; Sydnee Landry – Dulles High School; Candice Minter – Clements High School; and James Richard – Ridge Point High School. Semifinalists are designated within geographic regions and are the highest-scoring program entrants in the states that make up each region.
These students represent more than 160,000 high school juniors from all parts of the United States who requested consideration in the 2013 National Achievement Program when they took the 2011 PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. From the approximately 1,600 semifinalists, about 1,300 are expected to advance to the finalist level and compete for one of 700 one-time National Achievement $2,500 scholarships, as well as about 100 corporate and business-sponsored Achievement Scholarship awards.
The winners will be announced in early April.
