QV Academy teacher wins 2012 Gulf Coast area Teacher of the Gifted Award
Troy Drayton, English Language Arts Department Head, and teacher at the Gifted and Talented Academy at Quail Valley Middle School, is the recipient of the 2012 State Teacher of the Gifted Award for the Gulf Coast Area.
Presented by the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT), the award recognizes teachers who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional growth, develop a personal education philosophy that matches the characteristics of gifted students, develop and implement differentiated curriculum for gifted students, serve the needs of gifted students, and impact gifted education at the local, regional and state level.
Drayton, along with other area and state award winners, will be recognized at the 2012 TAGT Annual Conference on November 29.
