First Colony Branch Library to celebrate Divali

In recognition of Divali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, First Colony Branch Library will have special activities for families on Monday, November 5, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land.

Families with children in kindergarten and up are invited to join in the celebration, during which they will learn about this festive holiday, make decorative paper-bag luminarias, and enjoy “doodh peda” – a home-made milky-sweet dessert treat.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2100.
