Fort Bend ISD launches news blog – The Pulse

Fort Bend ISD has launched a news blog, The Pulse, which gives parents, students and community members the opportunity to hear from District leaders on important educational news and issues. New blog articles are posted weekly, and readers are encouraged to subscribe to the site so they will receive email alerts when new information is available. Readers will also find event photos, videos, a fun “poll,” and other interesting features.

Topics covered thus far include:

• back-to-school message by Acting Superintendent Mike McKie

• article on Digital Citizenship by Chief Information Officer Robert Calvert

• Superintendent Search process by Board President Jim Rice

• update on the pending lawsuit regarding educational funding in Texas by Chief Financial Officer Tracy Hoke

• FBISD receiving the highest FAST rating (5 stars) from the State Comptroller’s Office by Mike McKie

• news about bullying prevention and awareness by Dr. Bob Conlon, Director of Student Support Services
