Friends of CAFB set to “Brew Help for Kids in Need”

Making preparations for the coffee are (L to R): Child Advocates of Fort Bend Development Coordinator Alyson Tomasello, Susan O’Hara of CRU Home (seated), Child Advocates of Fort Bend Events Specialist Lisa Moore, Pam Duggan Gray of Friends, Charley Ham of CRU Home (seated), and Allyson Huth of CRU Home.

You are invited to join Friends of Child Advocates of Fort Bend’s annual membership coffee on Tuesday, October 23 at 19 Glen Eagles Dr. in Sugar Land. Beginning at 10am, guests will enjoy fresh coffee and home baked pastries while learning about Friends and how the organization assists CAFB volunteers and the children they serve. In addition, Allyson Huth from CRU Home will share holiday decorating ideas and demonstrations.

Friends of Child Advocates of Fort Bend is an auxiliary group to fund the “extras” for children served by CAFB. The $35 membership contribution collected annually from each member goes toward the special needs fund and other Friends projects designed to improve the lives of the child victims served by the agency.

There are many ways you can be a Friend. “You can simply join and pay your fees, knowing that you will truly help in the life of an abused and neglected child, or dive in and commit as many hours as you can to our projects,” said Friends President Sue Hauenstein.

Guests are encouraged to bring Target or Wal-Mart gift cards to help purchase emergency supplies for children served by Child Advocates of Fort Bend. The amount should be indicated on the card.

For more information on Friends and the Fall Coffee, call Pam Duggan Gray at 713-851-7292. For more information on Child Advocates of Fort Bend and its volunteer opportunities, please call 281-341-9955 or go to www.cafb.org.
