Pretty In Pink at Town Square Friday, October 19

The “Pink Heals Tour” fire trucks are driving across America to raise money for cancer and they are making a stop at the Pretty in Pink—Town Square event for you to sign the truck in honor or in memory of a loved one.

Join them for Pretty In Pink – Town Square, a family-fun charity event to benefit local cancer patients, this Friday, October 19! Methodist Sugar Land Hospital and the Fort Bend Junior Service League have partnered together with breast surgeons Sandra Templeton, M.D. and Kelly Dempsey, M.D., to hold this event, in which 100 percent of the donated proceeds will stay within the community to assist patients with personal costs associated with all types of cancer.

This exciting, free family-fun community event will be held at the Sugar Land Town Square. The event will feature something for everyone –Radio London Band, activities for kids—Moonwalk, Face Painting, Magician, Balloon Artists and after sundown, Town Square will be lit up in pink to honor all cancer survivors.

Attendees will also be able to sign their names on the famous pink fire truck that travels across the country as a part of the “Pink Heals Tour” to help raise money to fight cancer.

Former Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance president Gail Parker, who is also a breast cancer survivor, will be the keynote speaker and will discuss how being optimistic helped her stay positive during her breast cancer treatment.

Pretty in Pink event organizers have already raised more than $90,000 thanks to the many event sponsors and are hoping for a large turnout at the event to maximize the amount of aid that can be distributed to local cancer patients.

“It is great to see the community come together for such a great cause,” said Leena Taneja, sponsorship chair and director of physician relations at Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. “In addition to their direct medical expenses, cancer patients often incur extra costs related to their condition, and in many cases, they can’t work for extended periods of time. Pretty In Pink – Town Square will help provide assistance where needed to ensure that cancer patients don’t have the extra burden of trying to find help.”
