Rice elected to Statewide Association Board
The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has elected Jim Rice of Fort Bend ISD to a two-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 4G.
Elected to his local board in 2010, Rice currently serves as president and previously served as secretary. He is president of Rice & Gardner Consultants, an engineering and construction management firm. He studied architectural drafting at Massey Business College.
An active member of the Boy Scouts of America, Rice serves on the Sam Houston Area Council Board of Directors, the Board of Directors for Literacy Council of Fort Bend County, and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
He previously served on the Fort Bend Regional P16 Council. Co-founder and past chair of the board of directors of Fort Bend Cares, Rice also is a 2005 graduate of the Fort Bend Chamber’s Leadership Forum Class.
He and his wife, Mary, have three children, David, Daniel, and Douglas.
