Share your Thanksgiving says Ft Bend Teen Service League
For most of us Thanksgiving is a special time of year spent with family and friends, sharing a wonderful meal and watching our favorite football team on TV. For families struggling to make ends meet, Thanksgiving brings with it added stress and worry. To help brighten the holiday season for our neighbors in need, East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry is preparing again this year to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets for families in need within Fort Bend County.
Each fall area schools, businesses, churches and organizations throughout the community help support the Ministry’s Food Pantry by holding Food Drives. These Food Drives collect holiday food items, staple food supplies as well as cash donations. Last year, the Ministry’s Holiday Food Program helped feed over 2,500 Fort Bend residents by providing all of the groceries needed to prepare a special holiday meal. The goal this year is to help even more of our Fort Bend neighbors!
The success of the Holiday Food Program relies heavily upon the continued support from the community. Sharing your Thanksgiving by holding a food drive is an easy way to help make the holidays better for everyone in our community. If your school, business, church or civic organization is interested in holding a Food Drive please contact Diane Clark, Program Coordinator, 281-261-1006 or Diane@HumanNeeds.org, for assistance with coordination and scheduling food pick up.
