Announcement of important voting issue for Missouri City residents

In addition to the Federal, State and Local Elections there is a General Mobility referendum vote that directly affects all Missouri City residents. On the ballot will be a Metro referendum with a Yes or No choice.

A Yes vote allows Missouri City to continue to receive 1/2 of the one cent Metro tax collected in our current 8 1/4% sales tax. This represents approximately $3 Million annually which is used for general mobility projects in Missouri City.

A No vote will eliminate the reimbursement of these funds back to Missouri City and will be used as Metro so determines.

Either choice does not affect our current sales tax rate of 8 1/4%.
