Fort Bend ISD receives Superior Achievement rating
Fort Bend ISD has received a Superior Achievement rating from the Texas Education Agency’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). The District scored 70 out of a maximum of 70 points from the various indicators, which rate audit and governance disclosures, cash and investments, tax collections, fund balances, administrative costs and staffing levels. The goal of the FIRST scoring system is to achieve quality performance in the management of districts’ financial resources.
“This system allows our governing state agency to analyze all school districts using hard data,” said Dr. Tracy Hoke, Chief Financial Officer. “I am extremely proud of my department’s diligent efforts, as well as those of our entire school district, to achieve such an outstanding rating.”
In its 10th year of implementation, the FIRST ratings were developed as a simple and understandable system that allows for transparency, but which could also provide an early warning of potential financial problems for districts.
