Local chef leads FBISD Culinary Arts Students in cooking demonstration

Second-year Culinary Arts students at the Technical Education Center, and their teachers Shawndra Harmond and Michael Miller, welcomed Chef Timothy Saddler to their kitchen to learn how to prepare healthy recipes. Chef Saddler is the founder and owner of Tim & Co. Catering in Houston and promoter of the “Cooking it Healthy” kitchen. He visited the students to offer cooking advice, share kitchen tips, and lead them in preparing a healthy sauce and vegetable medley that can be included on their restaurant menu.

The chefs-in-training are currently working on perfecting a menu for their new Global Market Grill restaurant that is scheduled to open in January 2013 at the Technical Education Center (located at 540 Dulles Avenue, Sugar Land, 77478, behind Dulles High School). The restaurant’s motto is “Good Healthy Food for Everyone,” and it will be open for lunch to all Fort Bend ISD employees.
