George Memorial Library hosts Saturday movie matinee
Fort Bend County Libraries will feature a free Saturday Movie Matinee at George Memorial Library, 1001 Golfview in Richmond, on November 17, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library.
Movie-goers will be treated to an animated family adventure film which puts a futuristic twist on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel, Treasure Island. Restless teen Jim Hawkins sets out on a fantastic journey across the universe as the cabin boy aboard a majestic space galleon. Befriended by the ship’s charismatic cyborg cook, John Silver, Jim blossoms under the older man’s guidance as he and the alien crew battle a supernova, a black hole, and a ferocious space storm. Even greater dangers lie ahead for Jim, however, when he discovers that his trusted friend, Silver, is actually a scheming pirate with mutiny on his mind.
This movie is rated PG.
The movie is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information about the featured movie, call the libraries’ Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
