Friendly visit leads to shooting

Visiting a friend who lives in close proximity of a former friend leads to Needville area shooting on Sunday, November 4, around 4 p.m. The afternoon silence was shattered by a gunshot blast, ending the argument between two men.
Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel said, “Francisco Hernandez, 41, is in Fort Bend County Jail charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.” According to Haenel, when officers arrived on the scene they learned that Hernandez and the victim have been locked in an ongoing disagreement.
The victim told deputies that he was visiting a friend in the 7300 block of Old Yeller. While he was there, he and Hernandez, who lives nearby, saw one another. An ongoing argument resurfaced but came to a screeching halt when a gunshot rang out. Haenel said, “Hernandez got a shotgun and told deputies he just shot it into the ground.”
The victim was treated for his injuries by Emergency Medical Personnel (EMS)on the scene but refused transport to the hospital.
At press time no further information was available.
Hernandez was arrested and booked into the county jail with a bond of $30,000.
