Hunting for homes a success for pet adoption event

On November 3, 2012, the Animal Services Agencies of Fort Bend County held the 2nd annual countywide pet adoption event. The event was an overwhelming success: 65 dogs and 10 cats found loving homes. The event would not have been possible without the hard work from the staff of Animal Services Agencies of Sugar Land, Rosenberg, Missouri City, Stafford and Fort Bend County.

A huge thank-you goes out to all of our contributors; especially the veterinarians who performed free spay/neuter surgeries and necessary medical care on the animals.

Veterinary Clinic Contributors
• Brazos Bend Animal Hospital (Dr. Ross and Dr. Ping)
• Critter Care
• First Colony Vet Clinic
• Foster Creek Animal Hospital (Dr. Moore)
• Lexington Boulevard Animal Hospital
• Richmond Animal Hospital (Dr. Mandola, Dr. Pina, Dr. Buvinghausen, & Dr. Jast)
• Rose-Rich Veterinary Clinic (Dr. Robinson, Dr. Duty, Dr. Rainer, Dr. Donald, & Dr. Pappan)

Thanks to all who contributed financially and through supply donations.

Also thanks to those who fostered pets before the event and volunteers who lent their time, energy, and support.

If you adopted a pet, let us know how your new family member is doing by sending an email and photo if available to melanie.manville@co.fort-bend.tx.us.

The cats who did not find homes on November 3 can be viewed on the “Hunting for Homes” Facebook Page. Please note that these cats are spayed and neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and have had an initial medical check-up. The cost is $40.

For more information, call Sugar Land Animal Services at 281-275-ADOG (2364).
