Learn how to create edible centerpieces at Missouri City library

Would you like to impress your holiday guests by decorating your table with artfully carved edible centerpieces? Fort Bend County Libraries’ Missouri City Branch Library will present the program, “Edible Centerpiece: Thai Art of Carving Fruits & Vegetables,” on Saturday, November 17, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 1530 Texas Parkway.

The program is presented by Chef Jeannette Namarahu, who attended the French Culinary Institute and has been carving fruit and vegetables for more than 10 years. Her clients are mainly caterers and hotels where her fruit carvings are in high demand. She also teaches French pastry specialties. Namarahu will discuss the history of this ancient art form, and will demonstrate how to carve colorful fruits and vegetables.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2100 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
