Kempner High School receives “2012 College Readiness Award”
Kempner High School received the “2012 College Readiness Award” from the Texas ACT Council. The award is in recognition of the significant increase in the school’s ACT composite score over the past five years while, at the same time, increasing the number of students taking the ACT assessment. Kempner High School (KHS) is among only nine percent of all Texas high schools that were selected for this award.
“We are very proud to receive the Texas ACT College Readiness Award as we want our students at Kempner to graduate with options, and this award is one indicator that our students are college ready and have a bright future ahead of them,” said Dr. Anthony Indelicato, KHS Principal. “I want to thank all of our parents, community members, teachers and students for their hard work and dedication that has resulted in this recognition.”
Karen Pennell, Assistant Vice President and ACT Southwest Regional Manager, congratulated KHS on their achievement.
“These increases in scores and test participants can only happen as a result of the high school’s faculty and staff efforts, as well as the dedication of the Kempner students and parents who focus on college and career readiness,” Pennell said.
