“Christmas Tree Lighting and “Parade of Lights”

The City of Fulshear is pleased to invite area residents to their annual Christmas Tree Lighting and “Parade of Lights” which will be held in Downtown Fulshear on Saturday, December 1.

The event will kick off at 5:30 pm. with traditional Christmas carols presented by “The Weston Lakes Singers”.  Mayor Tommy Kuykendall will welcome visitors and guests as well as flip the switch to officially begin the Christmas Season in Fulshear at 6:00 pm.

The Parade of lights will begin at 6:10 pm. and will travel along FM 359 from the Bob Lutz Library through the center of town, leading to the entertainment venue at the intersection of FM 359 and 1st Street across from “The Sweet Tooth Shoppe”.

The tree lighting will showcase Fulshear’s official Christmas tree which will be the centerpiece for the Christmas Season in Fulshear.  The eighteen foot tall tree will be covered with twinkling lights and beautiful ornaments.  The tree will remain lit throughout the Christmas Holiday Season.

The highlight of the festivities will be the annual “Parade of Lights” in which community leaders, local groups and individuals decorate and light up their favorite mode of transportation to ring in the Christmas season.  The parade will feature Santa himself as he leads the procession riding on a genuine Texas Longhorn “Reign Steer”.  Public participation in the parade is free, but registration is required.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to hear children’s requests and provide a unique photo opportunity.  Food and other refreshments will be available.  Bring your family and enjoy Holiday Shopping, Face Painting, Kid’s Games, a Bounce House, the famous “Rein Steers”, a Live Nativity, and much more!

Katy Christian Ministries will host a “Donation Center” to receive new, unwrapped gifts as well as donations to make Christmas brighter for area underprivileged children.

Fort Bend Seniors will raffle off a hand-made quilt with proceeds going to fund group events.  Tickets will be available on-site.

The event will crescendo at 8:50 pm. with a special Christmas Season Fireworks Display presented by the City of Fulshear.
