First Colony Library book clubs caters to readers of all kinds

Whether you enjoy classic literature or a gritty crime novel, Fort Bend County Libraries invites you to share that love of reading with other book lovers at one of First Colony Branch Library’s book clubs. These book clubs meet monthly at the library, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, and new members are always welcome.

Members of the Sugar Land Great Books Adult Discussion Group meet on the third Tuesday of the month to discuss classic literature. The December 18 book club discussion, which will begin at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room, will be on Candide, written by Voltaire.

A variety of genres are discussed at the First Colony Book Group, which normally meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, beginning at 1:30 pm, in the Conference Room. The book club will meet on a special date in December because of the holidays. The discussion on December 19 will be on The Christmas Train, written by David Baldacci.

The Amiga Book Club, a discussion group for Spanish-speaking readers, usually meets on the last Thursday of the month, beginning at 12:00 noon, in the Conference Room. The Amiga Book Club will not meet in December because of the holidays.

The book clubs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2800 or the libraries’ Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
