Guns, Guns, Guns
Southwest Shooting Authority’s business, owned by Cope Reynolds in Arizona, is booming. Reynolds captured national attention with his sign “If you voted for Barack Obama, your business is not welcome at Southwest Shooting Authority. You have proven you’re not responsible enough to own a firearm.” Reynolds is now being inundated with orders across the country in support of the position he’s taken.
Churches across the country are offering concealed handgun license classes. Heights Baptist Church in Texas has reached out to its congregation in response to our porous, unsecured southern border. With our President and Congress refusing to secure our borders, the general population is stepping up to the plate.
Immediately after Obama won a second term, gun sales and ammunition skyrocketed to a 400% increase. Are gun owners gearing up for what they know is coming or possibly being overly cautious?
While Egypt’s president Mohammed Morsi promised that he won’t be a dictator, Hillary Clinton stated, “I want to thank President Morsi for his personal leadership to de-escalate the situation in Gaza and end the violence,” without a single word of praise to Israel. Congress holds the purse strings. Does Congress have the courage to cut off the $1.5B to Egypt when America is in desperate need of those funds?
Bernanke stated last week that the bank (Fed) would not have “infinite” ability to address the fallout from a failure to avoid going over the fiscal cliff, while Timothy Geithner, Treasury Secretary, suggested that we should “absolutely” get rid of the debt ceiling through infinity, which is imposed irrationally by Congress. It’s taken Bernanke this long to figure out that government (taxpayer) doesn’t have “unlimited funds” while Geithner believes that we shouldn’t adhere to a debt ceiling? Do these guys even know how to spell f-i-s-c-a-l r-e-s-p-o-n-s-i-b-i-l-i-t-y?
If Obama increases taxes on the top 2%, it will only get us through 146 days. Then what? Obama is calling for a $1.6T in additional tax revenue. When are we going to start collecting from the illegals who have refused to pay their “fair share” while allowed to reap the rewards from every free program? When are we going to set limits on welfare recipients who have abused the system for generations and feel no obligation to personal responsibility? It is time that we define what “fair share” really means—for all of us.
Paul Krugman is calling for a marginal tax rate increase of 91% for the top tax bracket—which still won’t solve our debt crisis.
In the meantime, Obama “got out of Dodge” with the Benghazi scandal escalating, escaping to Burma, Cambodia and Thailand. Obama refused to acknowledge Burma as its official U.S. name, instead calling it Myanmar (the name under the former military government). Obama further met with Cambodia’s Hun Sen, the Communist Prime Minister “Strongman” who’s been in power since the mid-1980s and known for making sure that his rivals either end up in exile or jail—the same man who fought against a pro-American government. This sitting president again exercised a first of any of our presidents—Obama visiting Cambodia when our allies are Japan and South Korea. Do we see the pattern yet: Hugo Chavez, Vladimir Putin, Mohammed Morsi and Hun Sen?
Still no mention of cutting entitlements—which are a necessity that Washington needs to curtail. Still no talk of securing our borders—which is a necessity that is long overdue.
So the question is: Are you preparing? Are you hunkering down for some tough days that are approaching? Are you tightening your belt on your personal budget? The Left believes that the monies will continue to drop from the sky.
As the economy worsens—as it will—if one is smart, one would be signing up for a concealed handgun license class, phoning in one’s order to Southwest Shooting Authority and hunkering down long before the Left realizes that “Whoops, those darn Conservatives were right long ago, the country really is out of money and the well has dried up.”
God bless our great country. God bless Israel..
