Sports Authority suspect

Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel said, “Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers, Inc. will pay a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects in a theft case at a Katy-area sports store.”

The theft at The Sports Authority sporting goods store in the 5400 block of State 99 (The Grand Parkway) occurred Wednesday, Nov. 21, about 8:30 p.m. Haenel said store officials told responding deputies that a lone suspect entered the store and grabbed about 40 licensed sports jerseys, turned and ran out of the store to a waiting getaway vehicle.

The suspect was described as a black male with short black hair, wearing a blue/gray striped shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes. The vehicle is an older model white Ford Taurus with paper license plates.

Officials believe this same suspect and vehicle were involved in other thefts in the Houston area.

Information which leads to the apprehension and filing of charges on the suspects involved could earn a cash reward.

Call Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office at 281-341-4665, Fort Bend Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 281-342-TIPS (8477) or text plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). Tips also can be submitted online at www.fortbend-tx-crimestoppers.org.
