Sugar Land Police were called to a major accident last Thursday, about 3:50 p.m. A car traveling westbound, the wrong way, on Lexington Avenue near Colonist Park Street hit a Fort Bend county ambulance traveling eastbound.
Sugar Land Police spokesman Doug Adolph said, “The ambulance driver saw the vehicle going the wrong way on Lexington, so the EMS(ambulance) unit activated its emergency lights and positioned the ambulance in front of the oncoming vehicle.” Adolph said the car did not stop and struck the ambulance.
He said that the driver of the car was disoriented and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Since the accident it has been determined that the accident was the result of a medical issue.
