Texans Advocating for Meaningful Student Assessment to hold public meeting, Dec. 12

Texans Advocating for Meaningful Student Assessment (TAMSA) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 7:00 p.m. at the Fort Bend ISD Annex, 3119 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land.

TAMSA is a statewide, grassroots organization comprised of parents and other community members who advocate for a strong accountability system for our schools and meaningful student assessments.

The meeting is being sponsored by Fort Bend ISD, Lamar CISD and Stafford MSD.  All three school districts have joined 875 other Texas school districts representing more than 4.4 million students in adopting a resolution concerning high stakes, standardized testing of public school students.

As of November 30, this group represents 85 percent of Texas school districts and 91 percent of all Texas public school students.

Parents and community members are encouraged to attend to find out more about TAMSA and their efforts in regards to lessening the burdens associated with state testing.
