We must stop amnesty and continue to educate the misinformed

Thank you, Fort Bend Star loyal readers, for the highest number of calls that I have received so far in support of my column content since I began my column and after your reading the letter to the editor. The love and tolerance from the Left was oozing while the devastating direction unions have taken was totally missed by the disgruntled reader. How grossly inaccurate to align me to the Nazi Party, my indictment of organized labor, my favorite snacks are supposedly Hostess products (I don’t even know what a Devil Dog is), that I support Hostess because, I guess, I also support Bain Capital, that I drive a (Honda) gas guzzler and that my source is Rush. Oh, how the misinformed wander in their rebuttal and refuse to bring substance to the debate.

So not only are certified, skilled professionals only born from a union, but it’s perfectly acceptable that union dues are spent on political power and candidate gain when all union members are NOT in agreement with how union dues are allocated. The U.S. is supposedly on track to becoming the biggest oil exporter—even with strict EPA regulations and moratoriums that have been inflicted on the oil companies. Wait, aren’t the oil companies the greedy, bad guys?

The feedback that I have consistently received is “the fair and balanced approach” that Bev’s and my opposing columns that The Star offers all of its readers—which is unmatched with any other paper—and that the Conservative voice is truly represented in Fort Bend County.

Here’s a no-brainer: If one doesn’t want to read the Conservative column – one that is researched extensively each week—a logical option is to simply turn the page. Why does the Liberal have to personally attack while he is ignorantly spouting? Why does the Liberal argue that it has to be all or nothing: You either accept what I am throwing down your throat or I need to stifle your voice? It’s either unions or utter chaos. Turn the darn page if you’re upset, just like Conservatives flip the channel when MSNBC comes on and our stomachs start to churn. This disgruntled reader could learn quite a bit if he’d pick up the book “Face It, We’re Broken.” Oh, heck, the Conservatives will pray for the parrot this week.

So what is wrong with Arizona when Arizona law is based on federal immigration laws? Why are Republicans again expected to cross the aisle—what’s called a compromise—on illegal immigration? The Left is pushing for another amnesty when they had already left us with empty promises if enacted that the southern border would be made secure? Are we really going to fall for that fallacy again?

Before amnesty can be addressed, we, as a country, deserve our southern border to be secure. There is no other country that is more porous than ours. With amnesty comes an even bigger flow of illegal crossings. Why is Congress unwilling to admit that terrorists are also crossing our porous southern border, destroying private property and killing innocent Americans?

Do we no longer value American lives and put ones who are breaking our laws above fellow Americans? Do we no longer have a conscience that we are rewarding illegal perpetrators above fellow law-abiding American citizens?

Why is Congress allowing Social Security to go bankrupt while we have paid in for decades while allowing illegals to collect without contributing a dime? Until Congress has “skin in the game,” they will continue this inexcusable fiscal irresponsibility with The Social Security Trust Fund.

Why can’t Congress admit that we are endangering fellow Americans with national security issues with our porous borders? When is Congress going to stand up to the plate and admit that they have made a gross mistake for decades and that the illegal immigrant population is financially draining us and we must enforce our laws when our country is in fiscal crisis? When did the quota system get tossed out the window? There were very logical reasons for quotas given to each country. When did we deviate from allowing people into our country who are educated and knew the English language?

When did Congress say that it was okay to come to our country, take our jobs, be allowed to send money home without being taxed, not wanting to assimilate into our culture with the intention to return home someday? When did Congress stop asking the tough questions if one was coming to our country to truly become a part of the greatest country in the world or simply to use us as a pawn with the intention to return home someday? What does that say about us as the leader of the free world? What does that say to our forefathers who sacrificed much more than any of us to build a nation that they were so proud of?

We have lost what we stand for as the greatest country in the world. We have lost what it means to “be an American” and have succumbed to the bully.

Yes, my Liberal friend, we are “stuck” with ones that we are sending back to Washington—and not to our liking. Many of us are ready for Boehner to resign. It is time that we demand Congress make the tough decisions even if they’re afraid that they may not be re-elected in another two or four years or try to slip another pay raise under America’s radar.

We cannot afford another downgrade—every one that has occurred under this sitting president. We must get our financial feet back on stable ground and address the tough issues.

Perhaps we should tax all outgoing Western Union transactions 91%, you know, like what Paul Krugman is suggesting for the top 2%. How about everyone pay “their fair share”?

God bless our great country. God bless Israel.
