Storage units burglarized

Storage units across west Fort Bend County have been the latest targets of looting burglars.

In a Special Crime Alert, Sheriff’s spokesman, Bob Haenel, said at least two west side Fort Bend County multiple storage rental facilities have been the target of thieves and vandals. He said the first episode was on the December 6 at the KVB Storage in the 5700 block of Highway 36 in the Village of Pleak and the second was the following day, December 7, at AAA Storage off Loop 540 near Beasley.

Haenel said in Pleak 16 different storage units were vandalized and or burglarized after the locks were cut off. He offered no indication on what property, if any, was stolen.

In the second incident near Beasley; suspects gained access by cutting the perimeter chain-link fence. Five units in that facility were breeched by suspect(s). Again, no indication of what; if anything, was stolen.

In an effort to solve these cases Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers, Inc. will pay a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the subjects involved in these two particular incidents.
