Mimosa Mama’s Celebrate 4th Annual Casa Home Tour
Each year, nine women from the Sugar Land area get together to support a great cause and kick off the holiday season, in style! Organized by Karen Daly, the morning begins with a pot-luck brunch at her house before the women leave in a limousine to view each of the six gorgeous, professionally decorated homes that benefit Child Advocates of Fort Bend.
Since 1991, Child Advocates has provided a voice to more than 8,000 children. “We provide a voice for abused and neglected children because we believe every child has a right to be in a safe and permanent home.” Always looking for volunteers, there are four ways to help. You can work directly with the children, you can assist in fund raising efforts, help out in the office, or join their group Friends of CAFB, geared to support the special needs of the children like summer camp or tutoring.
Or you can do something similar like the Mimosa Mamas and organize your friends to view the homes. Karen Daly started the group when she first moved to Sugar Land as a way to do something charitable, yet make new friends as well. “There are so many good organizations meeting the needs of our community. It’s easy to find fun and unique ways to support their fundraising efforts and the Mimosa Mamas are a wonderful example and tradition.”
