QV Proud Hotline 12/19/12
HAPPY ENDING: A QV resident found two dogs running loose. One had a “chip” which helped her locate the owner ASAP. However, the other had no collar and no “chip”. She put up signs, walked the dog, hoping the dog would recognize his home, to no avail. The next night it was almost freezing so lucky for him he had a warm bed and food. It turned out that his owner was in Lake Olympia. Missouri City Animal Control contacted the “good Samaritan”. It is always a good idea to notify local vets and Animal Control. Also QV FUND HOA Web Site has a place where “lost and found pets” can be posted. www.quailvalleyfund.org
“I CHOOSE TO FOLLOW THE RULES”: This is a new Missouri City Police Department Program introduced by Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald. Police officers go into classrooms of third through sixth graders to make them aware of the dangers of drugs, gangs, violence and bullying. The teachers are instructed how to monitor and record their students’ behavior. At year’s end students who chose to follow the rules and take the “pledge” are rewarded with a “special” T-shirt and a day of fun, sponsored by the Police Department and Corporate “underwriters.
FUTURE PROGRAMS? Plans are to expand this program to include students in the middle schools and high schools with age appropriate changes in the Program.
“THE BEST OF PUBLIC GOLF”: Intermediate Priced Course: El Dorado Course ranked 2nd only to Memorial. Top-5 Value Priced Courses: QV Golf Course ranked 2nd behind Kingwood. Best Overall Value under $50: El Dorado ranked #1. (“Avid Golfer Magazine” Ranking)
