Girls Only – the Secret Comedy of Women extended until February 3

Okay girls, this is event you don’t want to miss.

Ladies, are you looking for a little fun with the girls this holiday season? A couple of gal pals and I recently discovered a not so secret way to spend a light hearted evening and discovered that Houston area women are responding in droves.

The Main Street Theater at Chelsea Market, 4617 Montrose Blvd, in the museum district features a very funny two woman play that has recently been extended until February 3, 2013.

This unique hit comedy originated from the authors’ childhood diaries and celebrates a multitude of daffy truths about being a woman. Often times a little naughty, this comedy will remind you of high school/college sleepovers you had with your girlfriends. Spend the evening enjoying a very funny mix of comedy sketches, original songs and improvisation complete with audience participation.

The original songs were hilarious and the presentation and timing were absolutely on target.

Evelyn Traylor of Sugar Land who has seen the play three times stated “I laughed the whole hour and a half and so did the 26 year old with me This play is for women of all ages! I’m getting a group together for January 27th to see it again!  Hilarious.”

My friends and I attended on a Friday evening and surprisingly ran into another group of Sugar Land women.

Performances take place on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3. Tickets run $30-$40 with a discount for groups of 10 or more. Parking behind the theatre is free and ample and there are restaurants nearby.

What a great way to celebrate the season. Grab a group of girlfriends; make it a dinner and theatre evening! It’s a perfect girls night out……..you’ll be glad you did. They recommend leaving the husband at home.
