What an event! The International Festival of Fort Bend 2013 celebration at the Stafford Centre on Sunday, March 24 was indeed a celebration of the diverse cultures enjoyed in the Fort Bend community. With hundreds attending to catch a view of the colourful parade that kicked off the event and the entertaining performances on stage, the sight inside the facility was mosaic—a microcosm of this area. The multi-ethnic look and feel lending to the enjoyment and experience gave participants the opportunity to enjoy different world cultures under one roof, right here in Fort Bend County. It was a windy day, but inside the Stafford Centre, life seemed just perfect!
How about the delicious foods and even the ice cream to top off the exotic flavors of the classic foods? Quite a treat…and the arts and crafts attractions rather added the feel of being in a United Nations venue. There were children’s activities like the traditional face painting. It was a fun filled, wholesome family event hosted and sponsored by the City of Stafford. Joining the city were Sugar Creek Baptist Church, Blue Bunny Ice Cream, Bel Furniture, First Colony Community Association, Danny Nguyen Commercial, City of Missouri City, All About Cakes, Houston Community College, and the Caribbean Chamber of Commerce as major supporting sponsors. Take a glimpse of what you may have experienced…or missed.
