Fort Bend ISD to host 3rd Annual Middle School PAL Conference
Fort Bend ISD will host its third annual Middle School PAL (Peer Assistance & Leadership) Conference on Saturday, January 12, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Garcia Middle School, 18550 Old Richmond Rd, Sugar Land. The conference will give eighth-grade PAL students, at 11 of the District’s 14 middle schools, the opportunity to take part in a motivational workshop to help improve their leadership skills. This year’s theme is Re-energize.
The event is being presented by FBISD’s middle school PAL sponsors: Courtney Border, Sartartia; Katie Braucht, Bowie; Debbie Cooper, Sugar Land; Linda Flaxman, Baines; Shannon Gray, Fort Settlement; Susan Kainer, Hodges Bend; Tracy Kelly, First Colony; Josh McLain, Crockett; Melissa Mora, Garcia; Orlando Seriale, McAuliffe; and Elizabeth Strange, Dulles.
Aric Bostick, renowned motivational speaker and success trainer, will return this year as the keynote speaker for the event. His high-energy presentations have impacted more than half a million students across the country. He will present a workshop promoting the universal laws of success and self-acceptance, and will help students set attainable goals and find ways to use their natural gifts and talents to enhance the lives of those around them.
The program will begin with registration and breakfast at 8:00 a.m., followed by the opening presentation at 9:00 a.m. The day will include a 3-hour workshop, lunch, and the closing presentation with the keynote speaker. Students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m.
