Hodges Bend MS students create eBooks to promote science learning
Sixth-grade students at Hodges Bend Middle School are taking learning to a new level by utilizing iPads in science class. The students recently created element ebooks using StoryKit, an app that allows users to create their own books or revamp classic stories by inputting new text and attaching updated photos.
To make their element ebooks, the HBMS students used their iPad’s QR (Quick Response) Code reader to locate an informational website to gather research for their book content. They also downloaded a Periodic Table and other material to complete their projects.
On hand to provide technical instruction were FBISD Educational Technology Specialists Kim Boyd, Kay Cole and Patsy Lewis. They partnered with the sixth-grade science team at HBMS to help make the project a positive learning experience for the students.
