Learn about digital storytelling
Do you have a story to share? Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library will show you how to create a digital multimedia story at a special program, “Introduction to Digital Storytelling,” on Tuesday, January 15, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab of the library, located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City.
Library staff member Victor Quijano will demonstrate how to use the free online tool “Photo Story 3 for Windows” to create a digital story with photos, special effects, soundtrack music, text, and your own voice narration. Quijano will also show how to publish the finished product on the web via YouTube.
Photo Story 3 for Windows is a free and easy-to-use visual-story-creation program that comes pre-installed on most Windows XP computers. The small file size makes the program easy to send in an email, and the story can be watched on a television, computer, or a Windows Mobile-based portable device.
The class is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select “Sienna Branch,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-238-2952, or by visiting the library.
