Gate busters caught on tape

By LeaAnne Klentzman

Two teenage boys are being sought by law enforcement for gate crashing. Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers has announced they will pay a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects involved in a Richmond area criminal mischief offense after they were caught on tape forcing open a security gate.

In the photograph released to law enforcement by the president of the Texana Homeowner’s Association (HOA), two while males can be seen at the entrance gate, one inside a car appearing to drive through, the other standing beside the car holding one side of the gate open. According to the president of the HOA, the gate that was damaged is in the 2300 block of Texas Plantation Drive at the subdivision entrance off FM 359 just north of Richmond.

Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel said the photographs being used to identify the two suspects were obtained from a security camera affixed above the gate.

Haenel went on to say that this incident occurred on December 15, 2012 at about 1:45 in the morning. The teens were described as males, between the ages of 17 and 20. As they approached the gate one got out of the car and forced the gate open while the other drove through. The suspect vehicle was described as a small black sedan. No license plate was available.

Damages to the gate are estimated to be about $5,000 said Haenel. Any information that leads to the identity of the prosecution of these suspects could earn a cash reward. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
