The Grand Parkway Association update with David Gornet

The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce will host a Grand Parkway Association Update on Wednesday, January 30, with Executive Director David Gornet, P.E. The breakfast will be held at The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, Sugar Land, from 7:30 – 9:00 AM. Sponsorship provided by JACOBS Engineering Group.

David Gornet joined the Grand Parkway Association as Assistant Executive Director in June 1999 and was promoted to Executive Director in March 2001. As the Executive Director, David is charged with promoting the benefits of the highway to area citizens and with supervising the route and environmental studies necessary to satisfy state and federal agencies.

Following these approvals, David works with local governments to secure the right-of-way and funding to construct the project. David has served on the HGAC On-Road Task Force to help identify strategies to reduce air pollution in the metro area and several transportation related steering or advisory committees for projects throughout the Houston region. He currently lectures on Transportation Engineering at Rice University for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Infrastructure Planning Division provides education on transportation, infrastructure and development issues throughout the region.
