Fulshear police still trying to identify murdered woman

Pendant found on woman.

In mid-December the burned body of a petite woman was discovered along the roadway in the sleepy west Fort Bend county town of Fulshear.

At the time the victim was discovered Fulshear police Chief Kenny Seymour said “Our first objective is to determine who the victim is and where she is from.” He said he was working in conjunction with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office to identify the victim. In an unusual twist, the victim has yet to be identified.

The victim was discovered about 10:30 on the morning of December 17, 2012 when a local rancher was checking his property. Seymour said, “The body was found in a rural area located in the 6000 block of Katy Fulshear Road in Fulshear Texas.” Katy Fulshear Road runs north off FM 1093/FM 359, east of the old town of Fulshear, and in between Huggins Elementary and the new LCISD Bus Barn. Although the area has seen rapid suburban growth, this area still remains somewhat rural.

Chief Seymour said the victim is possibly between 20 and 35 years of age, approximately 5′ to 5’2″, and very petite. She is believed to have had dark hair possibly with a red tint. Based on information developed during the autopsy the victim had extensive dental work in the past. Her clothing was described as jeans, a red top and a belt with riveted metal designs. The sun/moon pendant that police hope will lead to her identification was also found on the victim’s burned remains.

Police now believe the victim could be of Asian descent.

Police ask that everyone take a look at the pendant and call Fort Bend Crime Stoppers if they have any leads on the identity of this homicide victim. Information that leads to the identification of this woman and or the arrest and conviction of the suspect in this case can earn the tipster up to $5,000.

Call the Fulshear Police Department at 281-346-2202 or Fort Bend Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 281-342-TIPS (8477) or text plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). Tips also can be submitted online at www.fortbend-tx-crimestoppers.org.

All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
