Precinct 4 Deputy Constable David Dunn chases down and nabs potential copper thieves, but at press time details are still unfolding.
About 5:18 am, Tuesday morning, Deputy Constable David Dunn was rolling and patrolling when he came across some very suspicious circumstances behind Ruthie’s restaurant at the corner of Texas 99/the Grand Parkway and US90A in the New Territory subdivision.
According to authorities, the two men were acting suspiciously when Dunn stopped them behind the business near the utilities and HVAC units. As Dunn talked with the two, who told him that they were there to do construction work, then one of them bolted, running away from Deputy Dunn. He gave chase and caught him a short time later. The other was also detained for further investigation.
The two men were questioned by the deputy constable as well as several responding sheriff’s deputies. However, there was no construction neither planned nor hired to be done behind the buildings, especially at that hour.
At press time law enforcement officials were still sorting out the charges, nor had either man been identified.
