Two residential attacks in two different areas

Sugar Land Police are investigating a home invasion robbery in the Covington Woods neighborhood on the northern end of the city. On the night of January 21, 2013 about 10:45 pm, four men kicked in the front door of a home in the 1300 block of Ashwood Drive in the Covington Woods subdivision. Sugar Land Police spokesman Doug Adolph said, “Four black men with guns kicked in the front door, threw a woman to the floor and demanded the location of money they believed was in the house.”

Fortunately for the female victim, a witness heard the commotion and saw the men with masks covering their faces and called police. While the gun-toting crooks got away with loot, they did not physically hurt the resident.

The only suspect description available is that of four black males whose faces were disguised by masks, wearing shorts, tennis shoes, and hoodies. They are reported to have fled the scene in a dark colored mid-sized sedan said Adolph.

Sugar Land Police are also investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on January 24, 2013 about 9:44 a.m. In that case, Adolph said police responded to a call in the 2200 block of Lone Star Drive near city central after a man reported being attacked after leaving a friend’s condo.

According to Adolph, two men were talking to a female in the walkway of condo. The passing victim somehow was engaged in a brief struggle with the two men and a gun was drawn. Details are very sketchy; however when the victim saw the pistol, he fled and called police. Adolph provided no further information on or about the victim.

The female, possibly a suspect, was described as 5’3”, weighing 200+ pounds. She had dark hair and was wearing a black sweater, said Adolph. One of the male attackers had a light complexion and was believed to be either black or Hispanic. He stood 6’3” and about 200-250 pounds; He was wearing a black jacket, blue baseball cap, blue jeans and white shoes, said Adolph. Adolph also said, “The other attacker was described as a Hispanic male wearing a green hoodie.” Adolph closed with, “There were no injuries.”

Anyone with information on either of these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
