Teamwork pays off – nabs burglar
By LeaAnne Klentzman
Last week a Pct. 4 deputy constable and deputy sheriffs busted a copper thief. This week a Pct. 3 deputy constable and deputy sheriffs busted a residential burglar. Go Team!
According to sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel, it all began about 4 am, on the morning of January 30. It seems that both sets of deputies responded to a 911 call for service at the Ashley House Apartments in the 3900 block of South Mason Road after a report of a burglary in progress.
This incident was discovered by apartment residents as they returned home. Haenel said when they approached their apartment they noticed that the blinds had been rearranged. They backed away and notified 911.
When the posse arrived they discovered the apartment front door closed but damaged. According to Haenel, the deputies entered the apartment and discovered the suspect inside the ransacked unit with flashlight in hand. Further investigation revealed that the front door had been kicked and the apartment had already been turned upside down.
David Moehle, 21, of Richmond was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation. He is in the Fort Bend County Jail under a $30,000 bond.
