Introductory to computer classes offered at Mamie George Branch Library
Mamie George Branch Library, 320 Dulles Avenue in Stafford, will present free, introductory computer classes this month on using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Kindles. The classes will consist of a hands-on introduction to basic skills for people who would like to learn more about using these computer programs.
“Krazy About Kindles” will take place on Wednesday, March 6, beginning at 10:00 am. Learn how to download eBooks to your Kindle from the library’s online digital library collection, OverDrive. Library staff will also explain how the Amazon Cloud works as a place to store eBooks, music, videos, and much more.
The “MS Word Survival Basics” class for version 2007 will take place on Thursday, March 21, beginning at 10:00 am.
The “MS Excel Survival Basics” class for version 2007 will take place on Thursday, March 28, beginning at 10:00 am.
The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select “Mamie George/Stafford,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-238-2880, or by visiting the library.
