Nine months after the investigation began, a rural Richmond man surrendered himself to authorities.
In May, 2012 an investigation began into the computer activities of 27 year old Michael Darby. According to sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel, sheriff’s detectives first discovered Darby’s activities in child pornography when online hits to peculiar websites were traced back to his computer web address.
A lengthy investigation ensued which led to a search warrant at Darby’s Pecan Grove home for his computer that revealed he had downloaded almost 200 hundred images and two videos of child pornography.
Michael Darby was allowed to turn himself in at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 where he faces charges of Possession of Child Pornography, which is a first degree felony. Darby’s bond was set at $40,000 bond.
At press time Michael Darby remained in the Fort Bend County Jail.
